Description
Puck Magazine, which featured poltiical cartoons on its cover and center pages, such as this one about James G. Blaine of Maine, a Republican, who was U.S. secretary of state at the time. This was the German language edition of the magazine.
When Blaine ran for president in 1884, Puck portrayed him as corrupt, and has been credited with aiding his defeat.
