Description
Amy Luella Scamman was the wife of James Otis Kaler, Maine author of children's books. She is shown with the couple's sons, Stephen, who was born in 1901; and Otis, born in 1903.
Her cousin Frank Scamman was active in Democratic politics in the late 1800s. For many years the two branches of the Scamman family occupied portions of the Scamman farm, where Scamman Street is in South Portland today.
