U.S. Rep. John Lynch wrote to Buffalo bank president E.G. Spaulding acknowledging receipt of the latter's book on financial aspects of the Civil War and discussing the Legal Tender Act that Spaulding wrote.
The letter is a hand-written copy of the one sent to Spaulding.
