Description
View of the road heading toward the Longfellow farm in East Gorham.
The poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, spent much of his childhood there at the home of his grandparents, Stephen and Patience Young Longfellow.
The house, built in 1761, and farm were surrounded with hundreds of elm trees, set out in the late 1700s.
