Description
One of Sanford's finer homes, George A. Batchelder had this home built at 828 (formerly 100) Main Street in Sanford in 1902. The property was once part of the Storer Estate. George was a partner with his brother William in Batchelder Bros. Insurance, a firm that was still operating in Sanford 100 years later. William had an equally impressive home on Lebanon Street. Bertha Batchelder, widow of George, was still living there in the 1950s. Since then there have been other owners and the residence housed the offices of Sanford Psychological Associates.
