Description
The Wadsworth Longfellow House, the childhood home of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was opened to the public in 1901. The sign hung outside the house advertising the tour opportunity.
Longfellow's sister, Anne Longfellow Pierce, bequeathed the house to the Maine Historical Society upon her death in 1901.
