Description
The firm was established at this site after S. B. Emery purchased the former school house on School Street (the front portion of the building) and moved it to Washington Street in 1887 or 1888. A new school, which later became known as the Longfellow School, was erected in 1888 on the School Street site. The S.B. Emery building and the building partially visible at the right were destroyed by fire on January 1, 1984.
