Description
An egg carrier for transporting 2 dozen eggs from the farm to the store. Each partition in the carrier is padded with a bit of crumpled tissue paper to reduce the risk of breakage. A small farmer may keep forty to fifty hens producing three to four dozen eggs a day in season. The eggs were bartered for credit at the local store.
