Description
An early view shows the Androscoggin River as it approaches the Maine and New Hampshire border.
Looking west, in the background, is Mount Madison in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains.
This 1895 image was captured on a Stanley Dry Plate by Henry Greenwood Peabody, a prominent pictorialist photographer of the day, and was preserved in a portfolio as an example of the photographic products of the Stanley Dry Plate Company.
