Description

This photo shows the Aroostook Valley Railroad Trestle crossing the Aroostook River near Crouseville. An Electric trolley is on the trestle. The substation buildings can be seen on the opposite side of the river.

The Aroostook Valley Railroad began in 1909 as an electric trolley line, serving the localities of New Sweden, Carson, and Caribou. These trolleys were used until 1946 when diesel engines were used.
