Description
This scroll was painted by Chiang Kai-shek, president of the Peoples Republic of China for Toy Len Goon in celebration of her 80th birthday. The main character on the scroll is "longevity."
Mrs. Goon, the American Mother of the Year in 1952, came to Maine in 1922 with her husband, who died in 1940. As a result, she raised their eight children as a single mother.
