Description
Benjamin Tupper Newman (1858-1940) painted this autumn scene of New Hampshire's White Mountains in October of 1938.
Born in Bath, Newman studied at prestigious institutions such as, the Boston Museum of Art, the National Academy of Art in New York, and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Newman eventually settled in Fryeburg, where he taught art at Fryeburg Academy.
