Description
Hopalong Cassidy is a character created by a long-time Fryeburg resident and author, Clarence E. Mulford. Mulford began writing books about Cassidy and his adventures in the early 1900s. Mulford's books soon became so popular that they became a famous TV series as well as a full-length feature film.
This is an image of the Hopalong Cassidy actor, William Lawrence Boyd, as he is visiting Fryeburg at what looks to be the old Charles A. Snow School, ca. 1947.
