Description
Henry Knox (1750-1806) wrote to his brother concerning the Battle of Monmouth.
Knox was a general in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and served as U.S. secretary of war from 1789-1794. He moved to Thomaston, district of Maine, where he built a large, lavishly furnished home. He died in Maine.
