Description
Peace advocate William Ladd wrote to his brother-in-law William F. Rowland asking him to act as an agent of the American Peace Society in an upcoming speaking tour.
Ladd (1778-1841) came to Maine after serving in the War of 1812 and became a leading peace advocate.
