Description
Bangor and Aroostook Railroad initiated piggyback service in January of 1984 in an effort to create a more efficient way to move produce to market. The initial effort faded in February of the same year when potential customers didn't use the service. Bangor and Aroostook Railroad's magazine, "Maine Line," v. 31 #1, pp. 4-5.
