Contributed by Maine Historical Society

Description

J. R. Purcell of Providence (Rhode Island) Engineering Works wrote to Burton Winslow, clerk of the Pepperell Manufacturing Co. in Biddeford concerning engines for the mill.

The two apparently knew one another and Purcell hoped that would help Winslow choose Providence Engineering to supply the engines.
