Description
Wilson & Putney received this diploma along with a silver medal for the best specimen of Military and Natural Otter Caps at the 1838 Exhibition and Fair of the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association held in Portland.
It was the first full-scale Exhibition and Fair the organization held.
The Charitable Mechanic Association, founded in 1815, sought to promote and support skilled artisans.
