Description
Caption from the Bangor Daily News: "Thermate is a very powerful anti-personnel weapon. It will stop burning only when under water. It burns though metal almost instantaneously. In this demonstration, thermate training bombs were set on top of large iron cans, and ignited by a safety fuse. These sparks are not deadly, but make life Hell for those around. Thermate is generally used in four pound bombs-- for anti-personnel and incendiary purposes."
A demonstration of new techniques in chemical warfare was put on at Dow Air Field for guests of Col. James C. Jensen and carried out by Lieut. Steve Kutos and Lieut Herman Loes.
