Description
Interior view of the looms at the new Haskell Silk Mill with modern mechanized power silk looms.
By this time, weavers were male and women worked spinning and preparing warps.
The mill was located on the banks of the Presumpscot River in Westbrook. In 1907, the mill had 300 employees who spun raw silk imported from Japan into threads and wove the silk cloth.
