Description
Judith Stevens of Gloucester ("J.S.") wrote to Nathaniel Barrell of York in 1783, discussing some unnamed dispute and relationship between the two.
Stevens, better known as Judith Sargent Murray (1751-1820), was a family friend of the Barrells and visited them in York. They returned the visits to Gloucester and Boston.
She was a writer and advocate for women's equality.
