Description
Mezzotint engraving of John Trumbull's painting, "General Washington before the Battle of Trenton" (c. 1792) by W. Warner, published by William Smith, and J. Turgis, Philadelphia, New York.
John Trumbull is the best known painter of scenes from the American Revolution including, "The Battle of Bunker's Hill," "The Declaration of Independence," and "The Surrender of Lord Cornwallis." Reproductions of which often appear in history textbooks.
