Alice Bradford Lane, Houlton, ca. 1890

Description

Alice Bradford was daughter of Mary Frances Lovering and John Bradford, one of the founders of the Houlton Savings Bank. Alice married Samuel Lane, partner in the Houlton dry goods company of Lane & Pearce. She was a charter member and past president of the Houlton Women’s Club and a strong supporter of the Unitarian church. In her will she left money to the Houlton High School, Cary Memorial Library and to the town for playgrounds for children.
