Description
The Forest Service fire lookout tower on Mount Chase in Dedham, ca. 1920. The unidentified person probably is the fire watchman.
The 16-foot steel tower, built in 1917, replaced the wood structure erected in 1909.
In 1917, the watchman was Warren Darling of Smyrna Mills.
