Description
De Grasse Fox created plans for the Eden Swimming Pool Club and began building it in 1892. He went bankrupt three years later and the land was sold in a public auction. George Wescott bought the property and then sold it to W. R. Lee. Lee finished building and opened the DeGregoire Hotel in 1907. The hotel was named after Marie Therese de la Mothe Cadillac de Gregoire, the granddaughter of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, founder of Detroit. The hotel burned in the 1947 fire.
