Description
Merchant John M. Dillingham is aboard ship in the Chinchas Islands, Peru, which he describes and compares to Cousins Island (Yarmouth, ME). He mentions the arrival of his uncle, Capt. Charles T. Dillingham, in Callao, Peru. He also talks about the Chinese laborers who load the guano and shotting every man who favors Secession of the Southern States.
