Description
Hilda Ek (1907-2003) daughter of Swedish American parents, taught shorthand for many years at Portland High School and Orono High School. In 1945, Hilda won the first place award in the Teachers Division for skill in shorthand writing in a nation-wide contest sponsored by the Gregg Publishing Company.
