Description
This greeting addressed to Harry Jones was dropped by Lt. Erik H. Nelson as he passed over Old Orchard in 1924.
The message reads: "Greetings from The World Flyers, en route Pictou, N.S. to Boston Mass, U.S.A. This is our answer to the question 'Are you glad to be back:' Hello, everybody - you bet we are glad to be back. Regards from each. (Signed) Lowell H. Smith, Erik H. Nelson, Leigh Wade, Leslie P. Arnold, John Harding, Jr., H.H. Ogden."
Jones operated an airport and flying service at Old Orchard Beach from 1919 to 1933.
