Description
John G. Dillingham of Freeport, a ship captain, wrote from New Orleans to his wife, Margaret, in Freeport about waiting for a cargo and about several Freeport men he encountered in New Orleans.
He notes that he hoped for a cargo to Boston so he could return to Freeport and "go to planting potatoes."
