Description
Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) of Gorham took his son, Lewis (1832-1915), to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration of President James K. Polk in 1845.
Pierce kept an account of the trip that lasted from February 17, 1845 to March 11, 1845.
