Description
Moses Emery wrote to Josiah Pierce of Gorham in 1823 to tell him of his engagement to Sarah Thornton. He told Pierce to keep the news quiet and urged Pierce to find a spouse and share Emery's happiness.
Emery and Pierce were classmates at Bowdoin College. Both graduated in 1818.
