Description
D.B. Prince of York, Pennsylvania, wrote to Josiah Pierce of Gorham, commenting that Pierce's daughter Nancy was about to leave the school in York as a teacher and suggesting that her sister take her place.
If that wouldn't work, he asked Pierce to suggest a graduate of the Gorham Female Seminary who could handle the job he described.
