Description
Seba Smith (1792-1868), a writer and former Portland newspaper publisher, wrote from New York to Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) of Gorham.
The two were classmates at Bridgton Academy and the letter recalled old times and current family circumstances.
Smith notes that he would be unable to attend a Bridgton Academy reunion owing to difficult financial circumstances and having recently taken over a new magazine.
