Description
Franklin Pierce of New Hampshire wrote a short note to George Washington Pierce of Portland, seeking to meet him in Boston.
At the end of the note, Pierce asks his friend, "Are you married?" George Pierce married Anne Longfellow on November 26, 1832, a little more than a month after the note was written.
