Description
Franklin Pierce, a U.S. Representative from New Hampshire, wrote to George Washington Pierce of Portland, congratulating his on his party's victory in Maine elections.
Pierce also announced his wedding date, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. He and his bride, Jane Appleton, were going immediately after the wedding to Washington where Pierce was to resume his Congressional duties.
