A brief note from Robert P. Dunlap to George Washington Pierce (1805-1835) of Portland informs Pierce of his nomination as County Attorney for Cumberland County.
Pierce, the son of Josiah and Phebe Pierce of Baldwin, was an 1825 graduate of Bowdoin College and a lawyer practicing in Portland.
