Description
John Fairfield (1797-1847) of Saco, U.S. Representative from Maine, 1835-1838; Governor of Maine, 1839-1843; and U.S. Senator from Maine, 1843-47, wrote to fellow Democrat Josiah Pierce of Gorham about a widow's pension case for which Pierce sought assistance.
