Description
This photograph taken on Old Orchard Beach on January 13, 1938 depicts Harry Jones (1890-1973) with unidentified person on his left, being presented with a beanpot by an American Airlines pilot, the stewardess and American Airlines executive.
The beanpot is symbolic of his first attempt at air freight in 1912.
Jones operated a flying service and airport at Old Orchard Beach from 1918 to 1933.
