Description
A direct descendent of some of the earliest settlers of Sanford, Edwin L. Gowen was born in Sanford February 14, 1861. He had various professions during his life including that of a farmer in 1910 and a school janitor in 1920. Mr. Gowen's two children were Fred and Ullie. His wife Sarah Margaret Bell died at age 102 in 1959. Mr. Gowen also died in Sanford June 12, 1927 at age 66.
