Description
Estelle's Rose Garden at 167 Main St. in South Portland, operated by John Virgilio, was a lively night spot during World War II.
The property was condemned in 1952, along with Virgilio's filling station next door, to make way for the new road leading to the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
