Description
This ceremony followed a parade from Main St. and Wentworth St. (later St. Ignatius St.). Chandler's Band of Portland and Co. F of the Maine State National Guard Military Band led the parade through School St., Elm St. and Roberts St. to the cemetery. B.F. Chadbourn gave the address. At the conclusion, the parade resumed onto Berwick Rd. (later Twombley Rd.), Main St, Central Square, and School St. to the Knights of Pythias Opera House where a dinner was held. The date and circumstances of this event were unknown until a postcard of this image was discovered bearing the name and date of the event.
