Description
Nathaniel Swett Littlefield (1804-1882), a native of Wells, practiced law in Bridgton. He also served as the town's postmaster from 1827 to 1841.
Littlefield was Secretary of the Maine Senate in 1831 and 1832. From 1837 to 1839 he was a member of the Maine State Senate and served as President in 1838.
He was a U.S. Representative in 1841-43 and 1849-51, and was elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 1854.
