Description
Oliver Barrett Clason, a native of Gardiner, graduated in 1877 from Bates College and, after teaching for several years, studied law.
He practiced in Gardiner, forming a partnership in 1885 Albert M. Spear, a future Maine Supreme Court justice.
Clason served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1889 to 1892 and as mayor of Gardiner from 1894 to 1896.
Elected to the Maine Senate in 1897 and again in 1899 he was president in his second term.
