Description

Designed by Fred Savage and Milton Stratton in 1895, the original St. Ignatious Church was built to accommodate 170 worshippers. In 1902, the population of Catholics in Northeast Harbor increased enough to warrant the expansion of the building to house 500 to plans by Edwin Denby of Boston.
