Description
Oil painting of Ebenezer Woodford (1782-1849) done in about 1825. The portrait was painted as a pair with that of his wife, Mary Frances Woodford (1788-1871).
The couple lived in Westbrook, in an area that later was part of Portland and named after them: Woodford's Corner.
The couple owned a comb factory that produced women's decorative hair combs.
