Description

The "Hermit of Shin Pond," Greenleaf Hunter Davis, posed in the doorway of his home, a log cabin, with a steel spring trap around his neck. Davis was a hunter and trapper in the Katahdin area. He was born in 1819 and lived to be 96 years old, dying in 1915.
