Description
The home of Portland politician Francis Ormand Smith (1806-1876) on Forest Avenue in Portland, was built in 1836. The home, near Baxter Woods, was demolished in 1887.
Smith, a Democrat, served in the Maine legislature and was a U.S. Representative from Maine from 1833-39.
