Description
This image of Edward Henry Elwell (1825-1890) is the first plate in the book Collections of the Maine Historical Society, Series II, Vol. III.
Elwell was an editor of the Portland Transcript and a founder of the Maine Press Association. He wrote the book Portland and Vicinity, published in 1876.
Elwell joined the Maine Historical Society on July 11, 1879.
