Description
Cambridge, Massachusetts schoolchildren commissioned a chair made from the wood of the spreading chestnut tree, mentioned in Longfellow's poem The Village Blacksmith to give Henry Wadsworth Longfellow on his birthday.
The poet's nephew, William Pitt Preble Longfellow designed the chair.
