Description
Elizabeth (1808-1829) or Ellen (1818-1834) Longfellow of Portland sketched St. Marguerite, probably as part of their education. Girls often copied drawings from books.
They were the daughters of Zilpah and Stephen Longfellow of Portland and sisters of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
